Caroling

Yesterday morning, just after ten AM, the principal of our school made an announcement, in Czech, over the PA system. A student quickly ran up to me: “It’s time to sing Christmas songs!” We all headed to the Christmas tree on the first floor. Lyrics were projected on a wall and music blared from speakers. Then, teachers and students burst into song.  There was “Wish You a Merry Christmas” in Czech and other popular Christmas songs. With everyone singing (I just hummed along!), we sounded like a little choir. It was fun. There was so much joy and good feeling in the room; it was a bright spot in an otherwise dark and scary week.
